The Registrar of Contractors puts it plainly: “Anyone can pretend to be a contractor. Check the license.” Here is the fastest way to do it.
It tells you whether a business is in our directory, and which public register we found them in. Our records come from the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, the Arizona Department of Real Estate and the Prescott Chamber of Commerce. That snapshot was taken on 16 August 2026.
🔴 It does not tell you whether anyone is licensed today, and we will not pretend otherwise. A licence can lapse, be suspended or be revoked at any time, and only the Registrar knows the current status. That is a thirty-second check and it is the one that matters — the button above goes straight there.
And a business with no register entry is not doing anything wrong. Restaurants, salons, shops, offices and many other trades do not need an ROC licence at all. Absence of a licence is not evidence of a problem.
